Javier Mora was born in Havana and raised in Caracas, where he completed his degree in Systems Engineering at Universidad Metropolitana Caracas in 1981. He pursued a career in finance and worked for companies such as IBM Venezuela, Banco de Venezuela International Miami, VestcorPartners Caracas, Deutsche Bank Miami, and Guggenheim Partners Miami. For the past 17 years, Javier has been independently managing investments in global financial markets, real estate, art, and private equity. In addition to his finance career, Javier shares a passion for contemporary art with his wife, Monica. Javier has visited Cuba many times over the past 15 years and has developed many relationships on the island. He has also worked with a local historian to write a biography of his great grandfather, Don Cosme de la Torriente.
