Cynthia FernandezPrivate Sector
Cynthia Fernandez Lumermann is a litigation associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz and joined the firm in 2013. Cynthia has worked on a broad range of litigation matters, including international arbitration, corporate, commercial and deal-related litigation, securities litigation, and federal criminal cases.
From July 2016 to November 2016, Cynthia took a leave of absence from Wachtell Lipton to join Hillary for America as a vetting specialist.
Before joining Wachtell Lipton, Cynthia served as a law clerk to the Honorable Kenneth M. Karas of the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York during the 2011-2012 term and to the Honorable Joseph A. Greenaway of the United States Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit during the 2012-2013 term.
She completed a J.D. magna cum laude from New York University School of Law in 2011 where she was a member of the Order of the Coif and the Developments Editor of the New York University Journal of International Law and Politics. Cynthia received an A.B. cum laude from Harvard College in 2004.
Cynthia also serves as a board member of the NYU Law Alumni Association, chairs her firm’s annual fundraising efforts for the Legal Aid Society, and is a member of the Associates’ Committee, an associate-led grant foundation that provides funding to legal public interest organizations.
